news about website... - by Aline Honorine Fitte - Presidente 2009.01.25 @ 18:29

Hello,

Having had contact with some English-speaking associations, I decided to give our website in the language of Shakespeare.
Have you noticed the 2 French and British flags in the upper left under our logo "White Elephant"?
Just click on the flag and the site is translated into the language.
I could not save, for the moment only a few pages in English because it takes considerable time.
So, initially, only "Welcome", the last "news" are translated as the "No. 7 Join-Sponsor-Donate"

I also created a record "about practice" in the Koh Kong City.

Unfortunately, I still can not insert pictures.
So in the meantime, you visit the blog by clicking on the link above because I got to make the link directly ...
http://actionsaidescambodge.unblog.fr

WAOW !, I become champion in all categories (information technology, translation specialist equipment painting, crafts, etc ...) and the more I embellished the blog with a screen of a tender green shoots of rice The Green Hope!

Sincerely yours
Aline Honorine Fitte

My 2nd report to the orphanage in Koh Kong - by Anne-Marie BRUN - Bénévole long terme à Koh Kong 2009.01.24 @ 06:41

Chumreap Suor,

This month was the month of birthdays at the Orphanage... It has been Philippe and Sandrine (our dentist couple) who gave the signal on 28th December for their godson RAKSMEY, a little boy of 7 y.o. for which he had asked special attention.

Around 18:00 am, they called from Laos ... a conversation minced particularly difficult with this kid who speaks only Khmer and 5 words in English (I holded their picture beside the telephone).

I loved that they can see his happy face ... and since he sings Di-dine ...! Philippe ... !

Then came the turn of Long Srey Pich with nickname SIM, a girl of 14 yo who has no
birth date ! Chan Thal has therefore decided to select the 1st January ...

Yes ! I had been surprised that they did not know
their date of birth! First, because we obviously do not want often, and that for years, some mothers contend that birth's date is conception'date ... and sometimes they are brought to the orphanage by an uncle or aunt who does not know their birth's date.

So for orphans is an unknown equation a 3 ... acts of birth are signs deals with the elements of good faith ... no evidence!
In short, it is assumed that SIM is 14ans ...

Then came January 7th both Makara (meaning "January") two great teenagers of 18 and 19, one natural and athletic and studious
the other, very feminine, two very different girls, but very nice.

We continued the celebration on 9th and 10th of January, with our Benjamen Chamroeun 6 yo,and Samnang,a little devil of 9 yo, we celebrate together in a joyful evening around a single candle plantee ... in a vegetable salad
fish and chili prepared by Thal Chan!

You understand that desserts sugars have not yet their place ... in Koh Kong, just hour after their dinner in the evening, it was better than
sweet!

Finally on 19th, super reinforcements had arrived: Candice, Jullien and Aurelien, three volunteers;
We celebrated around a hundred pancakes the birthday of a discreet boy : Heang, 14 yo we have offered a pair of shorts and a jersey
football.

It must be said that Candice had managed a real piece of bravery, leaving each turn, a pancake in the pan.
It is really difficult to send photos, but I was at any camera the after noon, to my great delight in front of their large eyes jellyfish.
Everyone, young and old, waiting his turn, with patience and interest.

A SUCCESS :
So, I take these exceptional reinforcements to create a new ride to the sea, this time visiting the zoo in the morning and bathing after the midday.

Chan Thal, as usual, had prepared a "casse-croute" that is not a sandwich, a real meal kept warm!

We are returning and singing all in the minibus and neither they nor we have maked way to go to bed that day!

A SMALL VICTORY :
Every day, i make the hems, buttons sewing... I make the link with the hospital, because I know
now almost all doctors, because I teach English as
voluntary work every day in hospital :
DOCH bitten by a dog ... antitetanus piqure quickly, Sothy disfigures a
fall motorcycle (8 teeth broken !)... RAKSMEY crying ... toothache ...
quickly, quickly, the dentist who never made me wait and receive me immediately in his office!

RAKSMEY on the chair does not pronounce a word ... the dentist told me:
- But is there Cambodian?
- Yes!
- But talks there Khmer?
- Of course ...
Then he enchaine, forward:
- But this child does'nt listen that when you ask him to open the mouth in English and had no reaction when I spoke in Khmer!

Here, it may be that the life of a volunteer long-term ...
For two months and as far as I stay, I did speak in English ...
and I will continue to do 1 hour course each day ... I trust and receive their
attention and I hope that this little mosquito 7 yo of very smart and resourceful, "the champion of all categories marbles!" eventually as
others (the last coming at the Orphanage) to understand and to ensure, through the actions that each person with all his heart.

For photos, I expect that one of volunteers left Koh Kong and arrived a P. Penh or in a bigger city for him to send a portfolio to Aline that would make on her blog.

Best regards
Anne-Marie

KIEN KLEANG, the other orphanage, often called the Japanese Bridge - by Aline Honorine Fitte - Presidente 2009.01.12 @ 11:51

Hello,

A young woman volunteer Morgane has just joined us and desires to visit the Orphanage in KIEN KLEANG.
We went with some hygiene products such as soap, shampoo and detergents with to offer to some disabled. They are also beginning to recognize me as I try, whenever possible, on behalf of White Elephant not forget them, which have a dramatic life as I have already described previously in the "Kien Kleang "blog.

We have established a small program with Morgan on the attitudes of children about the "eventual pedophiles" who could dress and come into contact with them very often in orphanages. We focus on vigilance, the attitude has to face and has mostly been expressed that the "person" adopts some gestures from evil.
This will be the small program for Morgan at KIEN KLEANG (Phnom Penh), all in English with media such as CDs or photographs so that small can also understand. It will begin Thursday January 15th .

We will also try to raise awareness of the "prevention routiere" because most children in Kien Kleang (there are over 130) go to school and bike across the main highway ... very often they do than watch ' one side of the road, whereas in Cambodia, the arnachie total on the circulation! (see photo on the blog).

Life goes on ... !

If you want to see pics, go to the blog :

HAPPY NEW YEAR ! - by Aline Honorine Fitte - Presidente 2009.01.04 @ 20:32

Hello,

The White Elephant joins me in wishing you a very Happy New Year on 2009!
It gives you a very good health, happiness, prosperity and especially the Peace within your family and in the world !

I do not know which number to report or weeks, I have to describe, but since the festivities were held for all, I will provide a result of my adventures''2''in orphanages regardless of the numbering of weeks or else .

1) I begin by Koh Kong where I distribute with Anne-Marie Christmas'gifts to all our godchildren around a small but beautiful Christmas tree and garlands. My daughter Anne-Sorya, my husband and a friend, Bertilla were also present.

First, we began to wrap gifts in red bags purchased for that purpose in Chinatown in Bangkok. There was school bags, shoes and then some godchildren received a supplement of gifts from their sponsor .
Then we traine large black bag on 2 motodop (motorcycle taxis) to transport to Orphanage. Arrived there At lunchtime(this is the moment they are all), we released each package with their name on it and I started to spell each name and then give the gift of each of between them.
They received a pretty good solid school bag " Super Man and Spider Man" for the smallest and the means of course, the size of the bag for every age group. Teenagers also another type of bag as a bag strap, 2 girls (Chrep and Meas Makara) who begin to work, receive make-up kits including Chant Thal who had a watch.
Then we made a family photo with their respective gift. After that, time to go to school, they are all proud to barter away their old bags which are rather old office under-40 years of hands against the new "brand new", beautifully colored, playful, robust with secret pockets and zippers everywhere for storing pens or other.
The next day, Anne-Marie among them Fat SAM, a generous boss of Guest House / Restaurant, which offered a good meal and other prizes including a brand new TV for our kids, it was the "fiesta" ! you will see the photos soon on the blog

http://actionsaidescambodge.unblog.fr

2) The orphanage KIEN KLEANG or we will strive for new sponsorships.
We arrived the day where an American and a few Singaporean volunteers have offered a Christmas meal of 131 children through a very big party with disco music, dance and "cherry on the cake", a mini dance classic KHMER prepared for us by young dancers (some of Kien Kleang orphans) who, dressed in their finest assets, we offer a graceful dance worthy of the real dancers (see photos on the blog).
We also proudly announce that from this day, we will sponsor a few children of this orphanage.

We thank these sponsors for their generous gesture in helping these children to live better and above all, give them hope that someone has thought them, help them and especially give loves.

Thanks to them and still a very HAPPY NEW YEAR 2009 !

Aline Honorine Fitte
